Aroma started in 1998 so that Australian teenagers could hear who Jesus is in their own high school. The band uses music to build a platform and then on that platform speaks the good news of Jesus to those present. The band admits that their lyrics aren't always the easiest to interpret. This, however, is not the focus of Aroma. The band seeks to preach at every concert.
The name of the band comes from 2 Corinthians 2. Like Paul, Aroma seeks to speak the message of Jesus in truth and with boldness. The band understands that this might mean becoming unpopular and even lead to persecution. The bands prayer is that it will never compromise the gospel in any way but instead will bring glory to God.
Aroma went full time in May 1998. They have toured most of the regions and cities in NSW, including Sydney, along with numerous Queensland, Victoria and ACT tours. In 2000, Aroma did a Northern Territory tour. Aroma has already played to over one hundred thousand Australian teenagers and have been well received in hundreds of high schools. Aroma has played at various conventions and festivals including Kyckstart, City Youth Convention (Sydney), North Coast Christian Convention (NSW), NSW Reformed Youth Conference, Victorian Christian Youth Convention, Taree Christian Music Festival and Black Stump, just to name a few. The band is Jason McPhail, Steve Morrison and Andrew Pearce.
Aroma has recorded three CD's, the first an EP titled "The Man", the second a full length album called "Party", the third a full length live CD including two talks and a video clip. These are available through Matthias Media. For more information please write to management.
We pray that many teenagers will meet Jesus!
